In-vitro and in-silico approach to assess the bacterial collagenase inhibiting property of andrographolide

Introduction and Aim: Andrographolide is one of the main constituents Andrographis paniculata. An anti-collagenase property andrographolide yet to be explored. Thus, primary goal study assess andrographolides against standard bacterial collagenase. The secondary objective evaluate molecular docking between proteins periodontal pathogens [P. gingivalis (Arg Lys Gingipains), P. intermedia A. actinomycetecomitans]. Materials Methods: Anti-collagenase an was determined using a UV spectrophotometer at four different concentrations (0.5%, 1%, 2.5% 5%) Furthermore, in-silico performed Molegro Virtual Docker (MVD) software. Results: Different had collagenase inhibiting upto 65% IC50 value 2.4µg/ml end 20mins. Based on docking, exhibited high binding energy enzymes. Conclusion: Within limitations this can inhibit in in-vitro model. Also, successfully docked protein sites actinomycetecomitans indicating its ability interact with these proteins.
